Lords of Misrule Theatre Co formed unofficially in 2019 with the closure of The Road Home shelter in downtown Salt Lake City. A group of friends from the Salt Lake Community College theatre program got together and devised a unique show based on mutual-aid and community support. The show was called The Lord of Misrule and it pioneered the donation based theater model they continue to use today. Instead of buying a ticket, the audience donates money to a charitable cause or community aid group to change how the actors have to perform the show. Lords of Misrule shows have raised money for The Road Home, Our Unsheltered Relatives, The U of U Prison Education Project, AAMP Utah, and Save The Kids Group. Lords of Misrule Theatre Co is part of AAMP Utah, a nonprofit organization.

The Lord of Misrule Christmas Play:
5 We ?? RJ & his unpredictable experiences!
We're stoked to partner with RJ, he's exactly the kind of creator ENB was built for: grassroots, creative, and driven by purpose. From interactive theater, poetry slams, battle of the bands to improv, RJ is the creative force for some of Salt Lake's most unpredictable experiences. He and his crew of misfits behind "The Lord of Misrule" turn the audience into co-creators, using donations to shape the plot in real time. It's fun, a little chaotic, and always in support of a good cause like raising funds for local homeless services. Held at The Beehive (a venue for underground art, poetry, concerts, and community-driven events), you won't regret showing up. So go!
