About
I founded Waste Less Solutions out of a desire to be a part of the solution and to do something I was passionate about for the second half of my career. I am passionate about food, education and the environment. All three of those came together when I learned about how harmful food waste was for the environment, I had my aha moment and knew this is what I was supposed to do. There is no other organization doing this work in UT and my personal mission is to create a social movement around food waste and get consumers on board and making change happen to reduce our collective food waste. I am passionate about what Waste Less Solutions offers because each of us making a small change with our own food waste can add up to a huge difference for our environment. Reducing our food waste is one of the top five solutions to reverse greenhouse gas emissions. And we all eat every day so it is something we can all easily do to make a big difference.

Dana was referred to us by our Community Partner, Julie with Millcreek Lifestyle Magazine in Utah, and we couldn't be more grateful! Dana is an ambitious, high-spirited, community-minded, like-hearted, go-getter with a lot of love for our planet, community, and all the people in it. And she has a fun sense of humor, too! When we sat down with Dana to learn more about her nonprofit Waste Less Solutions, their mission, and how they're making a positive impact, it was a perfect alignment. She has super unique ideas to mix up the typical nonprofit galas and events to give people fun opportunities to get involved in preventing and diverting food waste in Utah, and delivering rescued food to those in need. We love Social Impact Experiences like Dana's because they open the door for people to contribute to a meaningful cause, make a positive impact, and gain a rewarding, enriching experience in the process.
